How to Measure your foundation
Many people take a shortcut when measuring their foundation and do not take into consideration every wall. If you simply measure the overall width(1) and length(2), you may calculate an inaccurate total measurement. When measuring your foundation, be sure to measure the full length of each wall. Using the example here, Walls A through H are measured and added together giving a total of 260 linear feet. Using the shortcut method only 230 feet is calculated.
